January Happenings 2

A few more photos from January...

Our honeymoon was one of the best times of my life, and we have such great memories from it. I posted this photo on Instagram for a Throwback Thursday and I just want to go back to Hawaii so badly!

I hardly ever wear my hair up but one day it was just making me angry, so I piled it on my head. Sutton told me my hair looked like a flower.

Sutton and I went to Newton one evening to hang out with my parents, and we made a stop at my grandparents house for ice cream. Cooper had to jump up on my dad's lap and even tried to get up on the table.

My mom and grandma with Sutton and his ice cream.

Diesel's baby picture for another Throwback Thursday on Insta.

Sutton was watching a show on our computer and decided that the coffee table was his bus.

We had a gift card to PF Chang's, so we went and ate there one Saturday. It was our first time ever to eat there. Sutton had two strangers tell him how handsome he was while we were there. :)

Outside the restaurant, Sutton decided he wanted to go sit in the grass.

One evening for dinner, I asked Sutton if he wanted PB&J or meat + cheese + mayo. He said he just wanted cheese + mayo and was very adamant. So that's what he ate and he loved it. Gross.

After a haircut, Sutton has a hairy back. :) We always jump right in the tub to "get the itchys off" after haircuts.

We visited Daddy at work over his lunch one day and Sutton helped out by grading some papers.

After that bridal show I did, I still had a huge stack of handouts left over. One evening I was downstairs working in my office and Adam was upstairs. I came up after awhile, and found this. He'd spread my handouts all over the counter. Thanks, buddy.

He wanted to watch his show while sitting in his toybox. Whatever. :)

As previously mentioned, this crazy child has been getting up at 6am lately, which is definitely not his norm. It's hard for him to make it to 1pm for his nap sometimes. This particular day, I told him to play by himself while I took a shower. I called out to him twice during my shower to make sure he was doing okay, and the second time I didn't get a response. So I got out and went to his room and found him like this. Poor guy had fallen asleep while playing with his box of cars.

I traveled to a Labradoodle farm last week to do a workshop with the lady who owns it. She wanted to learn how to take better photos of her pups.

Another Throwback Thursday (I think these are so fun). Adam and I at my senior prom.

We went out on our weekly Thursday date last week to Doc Green's. Love their salads. And this kid loves their mac n cheese.

I found this Greek yogurt stuff that only has 80 calories and is so good! Adam and I are trying to get back into shape/get more toned. It's a difficult process, but this makes it a little easier!

Diesel and Sutton cuddling. They're starting to have a bit more of a friendly relationship now that Sutton's old enough to understand that he has to be careful and gentle with Diesel.

Adam and I got to go out on a date night last Friday before we went to Salina for the fly in. We used a gift card from my parents to Hangar One Steakhouse, and then used some gift cards to the theater to go see Hansel and Gretel at the Warren. So fun! I love date nights and wish we could do them more often! But who can afford that? :)

Two days ago, we had a near 70 degree day. It was pretty windy, but I still wanted to take advantage of it, so Sutton and I went to the park in the morning.

He's really into pretending lately, so he wanted to sit at the picnic tables and make me food. He fed me chicken, ketchup, and candy canes. With cake and fruit snacks for dessert.

When we got home, a bird pooped on his head in our front yard. Poor guy didn't even notice, but after I told him, he kept asking me why the bird pooped on him.

Now for a couple photos of the other little guy around here...

Spoiled?

I got some fun new photo equipment in the mail this week. Hooray! But weird weird packaging...

And last night we had dinner at some friends' house and got to schnuggle on their sweet little baby Hunter.

Weekend Fly In

This weekend, we went up to Salina for a fly in that Adam likes to go to every year. We left Saturday morning, and Adam's beard was looking extra fluffy.

This child, who has always been a good sleeper, has been getting up at 6am every morning. He gets tired way before nap time, so we've been trying some things. But anyway, he fell asleep on our drive up there. :)

Sutton quickly got bored at the fly in...his attention span is basically non-existant. So I took him to Taco Bell for an early lunch (his choice), and then Googled "fun" on my phone. I found this place called Jumpin Joe's, and we went and it was so great! Here he is, all excited to go play.

He was a bit too little to climb up a lot of the levels by himself, so I paid for me to go in too and we had so much fun and got all sweaty and worn out.

He likes to play arcade games even though we never put money in.

Then back to the playground for more fun. This slide was a big hit. He always made me go down first though.

Towards the end, he got a lot more brave and would climb or attempt to climb things he was scared of at the beginning. He made it all the way up this wall by himself.

On the way out, we got him some "red juice" (Hawaiian Punch) and me a Dr Pepper since we were super thirsty from all that playing. He was so cute carrying around his cup of red juice like it was a precious jewel. He even put it in the passenger seat of this truck he rode on the way out.

In the car, he was showing me how he was leaning over to drink so he wouldn't spill.

We headed to our hotel to check in so that Sutton could take his afternoon nap. But first we had to take a photo with our wristbands from Jumpin' Joes.

After his nap, we headed back to the fly in, and Sutton wanted to take some video of Daddy flying.

We were there a couple hours and then packed up and headed out to Chili's for dinner. We went back to the hotel to get ready for bed, and I found Sutton and Daddy having a little too much fun.

We also watched Pirates of the Caribbean (Sutton loves anything about pirates), and played airplane.

Yesterday morning after breakfast at the hotel, we packed up the car and headed home. Once again, this 6am riser fell asleep (with his airplanes) on the drive. He wanted to be put to bed when we got home at 9:30am. Weirdo.

Bridal Show Booth

I didn't take a ton of photos of my booth at the bridal show Monday evening, but I thought I'd show the ones I did take. So here's what my booth looked like in the Regent Room at the Ambassador:

And here's my view from behind my table of the rest of the room. Very cool floral arrangements.

I was in the room they use for receptions, but they also had a ceremony room and a rehearsal dinner room set up to show how they'd look all decorated. There were lots of vendors set up all around the three rooms, and then upstairs on the top floor, they had their Rockstar Suite set up too. Adam came at the end of the show to help me tear down, and we went up to tour the suite. The view was amazing!

January Happenings 1

On the days I can't go to the Y, I try to do a workout video at home. Sutton has gotten really into "working out" with me. The first day we did it, he lasted the whole 30 minutes (on and off). Since then, I usually put a movie on for him on half the computer screen, and mute my workout movie on the other half. He only joins me when he sees me doing a particularly interesting move, like jumping. :)

That same day, I was working at my desk and he decided to bring all his cars under there into his "fort."

Cuddling with Diesel. He likes to lay in the crook of my knee.

One Sunday after church, we made a stop at Menard's and Sutton had to drive a golf cart there.

Sutton pointed at the window one day and said "Turtle! Turtle! Wook, Mommy!" It took me a second to realize he was talking about the latch that DOES resemble a turtle.

We tried the new Jimmy John's here on the west side one evening and Sutton loved it. We took the half of his sandwich that he didn't eat home, and the second we got home, he wanted to eat it.

He loves to take my glasses in and out of the case whenever he sits on our bed. He was watching a movie and decided he needed to wear them.

Date at Panera with my cute boys. They posed like this and Sutton yelled, "Picture! Take a picture Mommy!"

Pom-poms for the baby shower.

This is basically heaven for this little boy. I let him eat mac n cheese in front of the computer so he could watch his Berenstain Bears movie.

Cuddling with Daddy.

I made brownies for a workshop I had last week. I love brownies.

For a "Throwback Thursday" on instagram, I posted this photo of Adam and I when he first saw me on the night of our first prom together my junior year, his senior year. He is so great...he skipped the Winter Banquet of his senior year at his school to go to my prom at my school. That's how I knew he was a keeper. :)

I was in a bridal show at a hotel downtown last night (more on that later) and was super excited when my sign was finished. It's big...30x30...and heavy.

Saturday morning after we went to the Y, Adam had the brilliant idea of stopping by the Nifty Nuthouse for candy to ruin all the work we'd just done. :) I guess I'd rather make memories and be fat than vice versa. Kidding.       Kinda. :)

Nifty Nuthouse awesomeness.

Sutton told us on the way there that he wanted a candy sucker, but a little one not a big one, and it had to be blue. He said that over and over on the drive there. So we found him a little blue sucker when we got there, and as you can see, he loved it. His white coat loved it too and got a good washing when we got home.

Saturday evening, Sutton was watching a movie before bed while Melinda and I decorated for the baby shower the next day. I looked over at one point and he was spread eagle. Crazy kid.

Val and I at her baby shower.

Little Miss Kennedy and I at the shower. Such a sweetie.

We were at Panera Sunday night for dinner, and Adam showed Sutton how to stick his tongue through a hole in his bread.

Yesterday we were hanging out and I needed some kisses from my boy. I never thought I'd be one of those parents who kisses my kids on the lips, but I kinda love it.

He likes playing in "forts" as you can tell. I gave him and old lunchbox with a zipper that I'd filled with toys and he took it under the table and kept busy for awhile.

Yesterday evening was a bridal show at the new Ambassador Hotel downtown. It was really fun to be a part of, and I got to meet lots of other wedding vendors! This awesome reception centerpiece was done by JR Koontz. So different!

Here's my booth. I took some better photos with my nice camera but haven't uploaded them yet. I may do another post with more photos of that. The space was a bit cramped...I had a whole trunk on the left side of this photo that isn't shown. It just had another large canvas displayed on it.
