Sutton turned seven on Saturday! It's so crazy that I have a 7 year old. I just think back to the valley of wanting a baby so badly, and having to wait so long. And now here we are 7 years later, parents to the most awesome boy on the planet.
Sutton is funny and contemplative. He's very sensitive and things affect him deeply. He loves Jesus and teaches me what that love should look like more than I think I teach him!
He loves Minecraft, and especially watching Minecraft (Stampy Cat) videos on YouTube. He loves swimming, ninjas, legos, peanut butter on waffles (that's his breakfast every morning), Hershey's milk chocolate bars, Gatorade, jumping on the trampoline, reading books with mom and dad (especially non-ficton ones about space and animals), eating mac n cheese at Doc Greens or chips and salsas at Chilis, playing with his friends, and seeing his grandparents. He loves animals...especially our cat Sammie. He says he wants to be a vet when he grows up. He's smart and does so well in school. He is kind, and he really thinks about how things will affect people's feelings. He is the best big brother but he also fights with Ren like nobody's business (driving mom crazy). How do you explain your child in a paragraph?
We took some photos 2 days before his birthday to document him at this age. What a handsome kid! (Making collages takes time and I don't have much time at the moment, so I'm posting these each individually!) This first location is extra special because it's in our little town...a spot I've been eyeing for awhile, but it was perfect to use for Sutton.
That night I was also taking some photos of a couple of our friends' daughters in wildflower fields I'd found around town, so I drug everyone around with me, and we took a few of Sutton at the fields as well.
Had to add little bro into a few! Look at those identical cheeses! Ha!
I will hopefully get Sutton's birthday video made soon and will post that in a separate post!

I Carry Your Heart | Recently
I wanted to post some of the random every-day photos that I have been contributing to the I Carry Your Heart blog.
These weren't for that blog, but were taken before Sutton and I went on a date to Chili's one evening.
From our spring break road trip:
These next two are so much more special, now that Shadow is gone:
And once again, I'm going to post-date a Valentine's Day blog since I never did that!! Yikes I'm not good at this blogging thing any more!

Sutton's Last Day of Kindergarten
Today is Sutton's last day of Kindergarten! He's excited for summer, but he's actually more sad about not having Mrs. Merseal as his teacher anymore. She has been the best Kindergarten teacher we could've asked for. Loving, compassionate, encouraging and very good at what she does...Sutton has learned to read this year!
We took some photos this morning before we went to school. Here's his official first day and last day comparison. He has grown so much! As I said on facebook...I still know he's my baby because I had to edit peanut butter and drool off his face. :)
I don't think I've mentioned Sammie on here yet. We got Sammie last week Monday (the 8th) after our cat Shadow was hit by a car that morning. Sutton LOVES animals and especially his cat Shadow, so we knew we had to get him a new buddy. They have bonded so well and Sammie is fitting right in! Sutton wanted his picture with her this morning before he left.
What mom makes him do for photos:
What he wants to do for photos:
A couple more for mom:
Enter Ren. They wanted a photo where they were both holding this piece of plastic. Weird.

Can't believe my baby is a 1st grader now! And here's a photo I took of him and Mrs. Merseal at his fake birthday party a couple weeks ago.
Mother's Day
I'm trying to catch up on the blog, can you tell? Sunday was Mother's Day and it was a hectic weekend but we still squeezed in some fun. Saturday afternoon I went and got a pedicure. Saturday evening we went to my parents for dinner, but my mom ended up having to take my grandma to the hospital so we didn't get to see her. Sunday morning, Adam made me French toast! We taught Sutton's Sunday school at church and then grabbed a quick lunch from Casey's on the way home so we could get Ren down for his nap. We woke him up a little early and headed to my cousin Hannah's graduation party where we got to eat cake, fruit in a chocolate fountain, and have Dr Pepper! The boys got to play with some new kittens that they'd just found, so that was the highlight of their life. That evening, Adam had to go to a Maize graduation, so the boys and I went over to Adam's sister's house to hang with them and his parents.
Before church, we took a few Mother's Day photos. Love these!
Snuggling the kitties!!
And I was glad to see my mom a little bit this weekend at the graduation party! Love you, Mom!

Ren's Last Day of Kids Day Inn
May 8th was Ren's last day at Kids Day Inn at Pathway Church. He went on Mondays from 9:15a-1:15p and loved it! We had to take some last-day-of-school photos of course! First up is the first day to last day comparison.
Big brother had to jump in for a few also. His last day of school is tomorrow!
Next year, Ren is off to preschool like a big kid! So crazy! It'll just be 2 days a week, but it's still weird that my baby will be in preschool!
Also...if you're interested...I realized I never posted all our photos from our fall family session on here, so I just did that today. I post-dated the blog post so if you want to see them, click here.
