Adam and I started Halloween off by dropping the kids off at school and then having a work date at the coffee shop in town. It was nice! Then we went to Ren's preschool Halloween party. It was so cute. Ren helped me set out cups and I filled them with juice, then they all sat down and had their little spider-donut treat and juice!
Then they all got in a circle and sang Baby Shark and the Ants Go Marching.
Lastly, they all got their towels out of their cubbies, laid them out, and then sat or laid down and listened to some stories.
After his party, he went with Adam and I to Wichita to run a couple of errands and eat some lunch at Doc Greens. We went back home and hung out for a bit, then it was over to Sutton's school for his costume parade and class party. They walked around inside the school, then out through the parking lot and to the nursing home nearby. They walked around inside the nursing home, then made their way back to the school. It was so fun to see Sutton with all his little buddies.
He thought he was so cool, haha. That is his teacher, Mrs. Kaufman, in the blue jacket.
We met him back in his classroom, and we handed out drinks while another kiddo handed out treats. They ate and watched some silly YouTube Halloween videos.
Sutton was very sweet and shared one of his two cake pops with his little brother.
After they ate, they played Halloween bingo and did a drawing together.
When we left, we made a stop by the selfie case, where Sutton has his selfie-with-the-principal displayed. You get a selfie with her when you get a Positive Office Referral for doing something good. He got one on Tuesday!

Ren's First Day of Preschool | 2018
Today is Ren's first day of his final year of preschool!
Adam was shaking his booty at Ren from behind me to get this smile:
I told him to not smile for this one:
This is his wink!
Then unfortunately, there's like an hour to kill between when we drop Sutton off and when we drop Ren off. So we stopped at the Meeting House to get me some coffee, and Ren got to play monster trucks on Daddy's phone.
They have these little mattresses there and every time we go, the boys love to pretend to sleep on them (slightly gross but I try not to think about it haha).
We drove around town for a while then got to the church where Ren's new preschool is at and got out. He immediately found a dead toad.
After we took the above picture, he was ready! He ran to the front door and said "Cmon! Let's go!"
They had this cute little door for them to walk through into preschool. Since we were early, Ren and another girl got to play with it for awhile. I asked him if it was fun and he said, "Yeah, there's a lot of activities on there!" Lol.
When it was time to go in, he was excited. He gave me a hug and kiss, gave Daddy a hug and kiss, and Daddy whispered a few parting words to him.
Then he went through the door...
And ran down the hallway to his classroom!
Last night, when I reminded him that it was the first day, he cried and cried. So I tried to sell him on all the good things about it. Haha. This morning, he was in a good mood. I wouldn't say excited, but not mad or sad. We had to take a bunch of photos, of course. This was the first face he gave me:

Handsome boys! We dropped Sutton off at school first.

Can't wait to hear how the day went when I pick him up! I'm sure the only thing he'll tell me is what they had for a snack! :)

Sutton's First Day of 2nd Grade
Today is Sutton's first day of 2nd grade! It's an extra special day because it's also his first day at his NEW school in the NEW district! Since Adam is no longer teaching in Maize, our kiddos are going to school at a small district near where we live. Sutton was so brave about going into a school, knowing no one! The thing I always want to remember about today : he was in his room getting dressed and I opened his door. He got up from his bed where he’d been sitting and said “I put my armor on. I just prayed.” 😭😍❤️ Our devotional last night was about the armor of God and I’m so amazed by him for applying that to his life and for being so brave in preparing for this day that could’ve been full of anxiety for him.
