Your routine right now...
...we get up at 7:15am on the weekdays to get Sutton to school by 8. Usually you're still asleep and I have to wake you, but every now and then you're already up. You usually have toast with jelly, oatmeal, or Lucky Charms (if I'm feeling nice) for breakfast. You always have to have a drink (which is the opposite of your brother at breakfast). Chocolate milk or water.
...on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, you go to preschool from 9-11:30. Your favorite friends there are Logan and Landon. You have a crush on your little friend Angelina. You say you don't like school, but you always go in without a fight and you come out happy, excited to show us your projects and worksheets. The preschool is such a fun, small-town preschool. In a church where everyone knows everyone and there are only 12 in your class. You will probably graduate with some of these same kids!
...on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you're home all day. Those are usually the days we run errands, go to the grocery store, or I get work done while you watch a show, play your iPad, or color/draw. You loooooooove to color and draw and you're getting so good at it! The improvement you've made this year has been amazing. You say you want to be an illustrator when you grow up and you definitely show a passion for that!
...we have completely dropped naps. Like, you probably haven't had one in a few months. We will randomly force one on you if you are acting especially grumpy around lunch time, but we haven't for awhile. There was one time a couple months ago that we found you asleep in your room and it was so cute.
...you ask all day long when Sutton is going to get home from school. He's your favorite person and you are always copying him. He usually is okay with it. :) You two are seriously my most favorite thing. You love each other so well, even though you argue and fight sometimes. The fighting has actually gotten better lately, and I think it's because you're getting older and easier to reason with. You love playing together and make up all kinds of games like "the puppy dog game" and "the bad guy game."
...you don't eat. Seriously, you want to snack all day. Or even just drink chocolate milk all day But you don't ever want to eat meals. You usually have a meat-cheese-and-mayo sandwich for lunch. After a few bites, you take the whole thing apart and eat the cheese out. I tell you that you have to eat the meat before you can have anything else. I usually try to give you some fruit at lunch too. You like to snack on cheese sticks, vanilla wafers, lucky charms, raisins, Ranch veggie straws. Getting you to eat supper is always a chore. Unless it's Doc Green's mac n cheese. That's your favorite!
...you love taking baths. You could play in there for hours. You love taking baths both alone and with Sutton. Usually it's the latter for convenience. You always get in trouble in the bath for the same things - splashing Sutton and getting water out of the tub. You also love showers and could just sit in the shower with some toys (old empty bottles) for ever and ever.
...when it's bedtime, we go to your bathroom and brush your teeth. Then you go pee, and we go in your room and read 1 regular book and 1 devotional. You don't really pay attention during the devotional but I hope I'm laying some foundations there. You like to bounce around on the mattress and trying to be silly. After the devotional, we turn out the lights and pray. Sometimes you pray and sometimes I do. You're the BEST pray-er. You're so good at it and it makes me tear up sometimes. Sutton talks about how he gets nervous about praying, but you sure don't!
...when I turn out the light and shut your door, you and Sutton giggle and laugh and mess around for awhile. I usually let you be, unless it's especially loud or especially late. I figure you will love the memories of you and your brother going to bed as kids. We got rid of your bunk beds this past month because you refused to stay in your bunk, and would always end up climbing the ladder up to Sutton's bed to sleep with him. So we put both your mattresses on the floor together to make one big bed. You still don't stay on your mattress, you always go to Sutton's. It is absolutely the cutest, sweetest thing. And Sutton loves it too. We often wonder how long you will sleep in the same bed!
...you say some of the most hilarious things. I'm always laughing when i'm with you. Sometimes you will hear words you don't know, and instead of asking what they mean, you will later just randomly use it in a sentence. Sometimes you're right, sometimes you're kinda right, and sometimes you're completely wrong. The most recent example...you actually ASKED what ASAP meant. I told you. Later you were outside and you told me we needed to run inside ASAP because it was so cold out. "RUN ASAP RUN ASAP!!!!"
For your birthday this year, we went bowling with your cousins the day before because we all had the Monday off of school for President's Day. We are having all your Grandmas and Papas over tonight for pizza and ice cream cake (unless the impending snow ruins those plans).
