BFFs
Sutton and I went to visit his new BFF, Tucker and his mama Lindsey today. They came home from the hospital yesterday and are settling in great at home!
This little dude has quite the tongue. It is ALWAYS out of his mouth. And that's not an exaggeration. From the moment he was born, this has been his standard face. How cute is that?
Sutton the giantbaby at 8 weeks old, Tucker is 5 days.
We've waited sooooo long to take this photo!
Such a cute little boy! I really hope our boys grow up to be friends, it will be so fun having them be just 7 weeks apart. Congrats again, Lindsey and Chris. He's beautiful and perfect!

Sweet Boy
I don't need an excuse to have a photo shoot with my kid, right? So, for no reason at all...here are some more photos! (And to save time, I didn't edit these one bit. He's pretty perfect the way he is.)
And this is what he's currently up to.

The Last Hurrah
Towards the middle of last week, I realized we hadn't taken any sort of trip this summer and our weekend was pretty open. So we decided to take Sutton on his first road trip up to Kansas City to visit Rachael and Matt. We had lots of fun just hanging out and talking about how cute Sutton is. :)
We left Saturday morning, Sutton was excited and ready for a long ride in his carseat.
When we got there, I right away handed the boy to Matt since this was the first time they'd met. Rachael was down here for his birth, but Matt needed a little bonding time.
Rachael's mom, grandma, and two sisters came by to meet him as well. Here's Shelby and Sutton:
And Amanda with Sutton:
That evening, we went to Chick-fil-a for supper (yummmm) and then hit the neighborhood pool. This was the first time we took Sutton swimming! Here he is in his way-too-big swim diaper.
Being a beach bum.
And then it was time to actually get in the pool. Luckily since it's the end of summer, the water was pretty warm. We put his little feet in first and he didn't really have a reaction, so I put him in up to his tummy, and he was still fine. Once he was in up to his chest, he started getting a little fussy, so we pretty much only put half of him in. But I was so proud of him, he did great! (Ignore my husband.)
Sutton got tired.
Then the "men" decided they needed to show off.
Sunday morning, Sutton helped his dad beat Matt at Nintendo 64.
And we had to say goodbye much too soon since Adam is having to gear up for school starting. I may do another post with Rachael's photos when I get those, but that was Sutton's first road trip in a nutshell!
Rachael and Sutton have a "long" track record of Sutton making a funny face in EVERY photo of them together. This was no exception.
Oh, PS - the title of this post refers to this being the last hurrah before Adam starts school this week. Boooooo.

Do We See a Theme Here?
We've been letting him sleep un-swaddled, and it seems that he prefers to sleep with his arms by his head. It's adorable. :)
Two things must be said about that first picture:
And in the last picture, he's holding his pacifier. He does this a lot, even while it's in his mouth and then he'll accidentally pull it out, which will cause a meltdown. I love this beautiful child.
At my family baby shower, Kerri had everyone write funny stuff on diapers so that in the middle of the night when I'm changing Sutton, I have something to laugh at. This was my favorite one of the bunch.
And a sweet moment between daddy and son:
Two things must be said about that first picture:
* notice the chunky thighs? I told you. :)
* also notice that he was texting on mama's phone, but got tired and decided to take a nap. I figure since we have unlimited texting, it's fine if he uses it.
