34 Weeks {Baby #2}

How far along? 34 weeks

Weight gain: 45 pounds

Baby is the size of a(n): Cantaloupe

Food cravings/aversions: Milk. Icelove crunching on ice.

Sleeping: Seems like it's actually been better lately. I've been a little busier with work than I was around Christmas, so maybe I'm just more tired from that which makes me sleep harder. Adam has compared me to an ogre when I'm sleeping thoughsnoring, making weird noises, heavy breathing. Sorry, dude.

Milestones: I basically just have a month left! Woohoo! I will be induced a week early due to the largeness of this child, so that means just 6 weeks left at the most. I had my last full photo shoot yesterday. I've just got one more mini shoot and I'm done!

How I'm Feeling: I got pregnancy email updates about blurry vision and puffy face this past week, both of which I'm experiencing. It makes me feel more normal that those are common symptoms. I get out of breath doing most things, but am still able to function {mostly} normally at my photo shoots.

Interesting things that happened this past week/anticdotes: Had a doctor's appointment and he mentioned the words "c-section" for the first time. :( We're having a sonogram in two weeks to check size, but I'm really hoping this kid is able to come out the normal way. Also, when I was at my appointment, I was squatting down to help Sutton put his jacket on, and a lady came up to tell me how cute Sutton was. She asked if he was my only kid, and I stood up and said yes but we have one on the way. She looked surprised and asked how far along I was…I told her I was 8 months and she said "Wow! You're not very big at all!" I am so used to hearing and thinking the opposite that I almost wanted to cry happy tears.

December

My chalkboard art for December.

One morning we had donuts and juice for breakfast on the way to preschool.

My cuddly puppy with his tongue out.

Sutton's school photo from last year and from this year.

We had to buy a new car in December and one day we were driving somewhere and Sutton saw this one and said he wanted this to be our new car.

Comparing Sutton as a newborn (top) and his cousin Carson.

Sutton associates healthy eating with being a grown-up. One day he put on my boots, stuck out his tummy, and said "Look at me, I'm a mommy! I eat celery and tomatoes and broccoli and carrots!"

A little pre-Christmas window shopping at BestBuy.

Sutton and I made snowmen crafts one day.

A pregnancy craving: French breakfast muffins. A relatively plain muffin that you roll in melted butter and then in cinnamon sugar. Mmmm.

Some of my awesome clients brought me coffee to their baby's photo shoot. :)

Sutton got sick in December and so we watched a lot of movies on the couch.

And he liked to make shadows with the projector.

We made a stop for some Christmas candy at the Nifty Nuthouse.

And went to look at Christmas lights around Wichita one evening.

Sutton likes to tell stories. Long stories. One night we were all sitting by the Christmas tree and he was stuck on one story for at least 15 minutes. Something about Christmas tree pie and breaking wings off birds to give to other birds who couldn't fly.

We took him to Prairie Pines Christmas Tree Farm to pick out his ornament for the tree.

I went and got a pedicure because my toenails hadn't been painted in months and it just needed to happen.

We were pretending to be superhero pirates who just ate popsicles for breakfast after we woke up on our ship.

I drove the new car to get dinner one evening. It's a Jetta. Love it.

Jaclyn and I after she took my maternity photos.

After maternity photos, we went to Freddy's for dinner and Sutton discovered the amazingness that is french fries dipped in ice cream. He wanted to finish that whole pile, but I said no way. :)

Adam's sister Jessica and her friend Lisa have a Christmas goodie baking day every year and we benefit from their generosity. Sutton thought this Christmas light sugar cookie needed to be hung on our tree.

We went to Illuminations at Botanica one evening to look at all the lights. Here's Sutton and I this year:

And last year in the same spot:

We got popcorn and hot cocoa and cookies. It was a fun night.

Sutton's favorite part was watching the toy train go round and round the track.

Had lunch with my friend Jess one afternoon at Chic-fil-a and her two boys played so great with Sutton. But her youngest wanted nothing to do with having a photo taken.

Had no idea Sutton could write the letter T until he showed me one night.

When Sutton gets up in the morning or from nap, he usually needs a little down time on the couch before he's really ready to be awake.

One of my faves from our maternity shoot.

My bedroom is a mess because I don't have a system for maternity clothes and they don't fit in my closet with my regular clothes. Diesel takes advantage of the lack-of-a-system every day.

We had some snow just before Christmas so Sutton and I went out to play in it one day, but it didn't last long. He was making a snow angel here, but it was so bright out.

He fell while we were running around the yard and the fun was over so we went inside.

He likes to cuddle the baby and talk to him sometimes. :)

The first night we were dog-sitting for my parents, each dog had their cozy spot for bedtime.

This is how everyone works on their computer…right?

Sutton calls these candy "cans" instead of canes.

They lay like this a lot and it melts my heart every time and I want to take a picture every time.

Diesel was being scared of something (I can't remember what) and he buried his face between the couch cushions and was shaking. Weirdo.

Christmas Eve, watching a movie projected on the ceiling before they slept by the Christmas tree.

All ready for bedtime.

Our Christmas Day family instagram.

Uncle Steve reading Sutton and Breegan a story on Christmas evening.

The day after Christmas, we went on a mini vacation (which I will hopefully blog about soon). We had to take my parents dogs back to their house before we left and Annie decided Sutton's lap was a good place to ride in the car. :)
