Mid-afternoon on Christmas Day, we headed over to Adam's parents for snacks and gifts with his side. Most people have a hard time keeping all of Adam's family straight, so I'll give you a little cheat sheet to keep track. :)
Parents - Ed & Janet
Sister - Jessica; Steve the hubby; Corbin, Aubrynn, Breegan, the kiddos.
Brother - Matt; daughter Bailey.
Half-brother - Craig (who wasn't here because he lives in Washington, but he just had a baby boy, Liam on December 21!); daughter Madeline who was able to come (hooray!).
Half-sister - Chrystal (she and her hubby and three kids live in Ohio and couldn't come).
Half-sister - Shelly (she and her three boys live in Alabama and weren't able to come).
Got it? Good.
Aubrynn and Corbin love their new cousin Sutton.
Aubrynn and Breegan passing out presents.
Adam loves to give Bailey a hard time, so that's most likely what was happening here.
Madeline brought her boyfriend Seth so we could all meet him. He couldn't remember everyone's names by the end of the night, but other than that he seemed to fit in great!
Breegan got some Caillou movies, and I figure we'll be watching a lot of Caillou in the near future.
Sutton keeping a close eye on Breegan. He's not too fond of her right now, probably because she's so loud and always wants to pet him, but we're convinced they'll be best buds when they get older.
Corbin got Harry Potter legos!
Adam helped Sutton open all his gifts, and he got totally spoiled. This box had some cute cute clothes.
A (plastic toy) cake with lights and music.
Every little boy needs a toolbox. Preferably with plastic tools that can be chewed on.
Don't get confused, because this lovely lady wasn't on your cheat sheet. This is Adam's cousin Kerri who lives in the sunroom at Ed & Janet's house. She stopped by the living room when she got home, and Janet gave her this "lovely" necklace, which is an inside joke.
Madeline got to finally meet Sutton! She lives here in Wichita with her mom but we don't see her nearly as often as we should. Madeline's been an only child for 17 years, but we'll all get to meet her new little brother Liam when she graduates high school in May, and he'll be Sutton's age by then!
All the little cousins sat down by the train track/Christmas village to watch the train and take photos.
Aubrynn took her job of keeping Sutton from falling over very seriously.
"Uh, Mom? Am I okay?"
Janet and Bailey have a Christmas tradition of getting a photo with Bailey on Janet's lap. This is becoming more difficult/awkward/funny as the years go on.
Matt and Bailey! Love this of them.
A budding photographer?
Grandpa Ed wrestling with the grandkids. Sutton can't wait til he can join in on this. I think someone's getting squashed back there...
Well...
There we go. They make a cute couple. :)
Jessica tried so hard to get a good photo of her three kids. Such a difficult task.
Our 2010 family Christmas photo! I hope I remember to do this every year. I know I look pregnant, (or still pregnant) but I promise I'm not. I was wearing a baggie shirt that was apparently not too flattering...other than that, I think this is so fun of us!
And Sutton with his grandma just before he started having a meltdown because he needed a nap. This is that whimpering/about to cry face we all know and love.
Only one more post to go to finish up Sutton's first Christmas! Stay tuned...

Sutton's First Christmas { Part 2 - Christmas Morning }
On our very first Christmas morning as a family of three, we got a slow start, and it was fabulous. Sutton woke up first, so I went and got him and brought him back to our bed so we could all wake up at our own pace. This is how he looks in the morning...all swaddled with his pacifier.
Then we headed to the kitchen where Adam made us donuts for breakfast. I got Sutton dressed in his cute cute Christmas outfit and he hung out in the Bumbo.
Such a happy boy! Woohoo for Christmas!
A close-up of his polar bear. Since this isn't Christmas specific, we'll probably wear it some more this winter.
Adam cooking...
Sutton watching his Daddy.
Then it was time for the first annual Christmas photo shoot by the tree. I took a lot. :) And no, he's not about to crawl in this first one, he was sitting and then fell over and bonked his head, but he didn't really notice and the shoot went on.
After our photo shoot, he started acting tired, so I laid him on the couch to sleep while we finished breakfast. He was being cute and ornery and wouldn't sleep. :)
Since he wouldn't sleep, we decided to do gifts. We went super low-key this year since he doesn't really know the difference anyway. So here's his one gift from us.
He got a few ornaments from people that we hung on our tree.
Mommy and Sutton, excited about opening gifts!
I love this photo. Notice Diesel helping us, and Sutton asking his Daddy what was going on.
Daddy and Axl playing with Sutton's toy. It's a guitar, harmonica, maracca, tambourine, all in one.
After presents, all three of us went back to bed. Sutton was really tired, so we all three got in our bed, with the baby in the middle, and slept til 11. That is my favorite memory from Sutton's first Christmas.
Then we partook in what is sure to be a Dreher Family tradition. We went to a Chinese buffet for lunch! It was really good, and the place was packed. There were kids throwing fits, and Sutton just sat there quietly and watched them. I told him not to take any notes. I forgot my camera. :( But he fell asleep in his carseat and continued his nap when we got home.
As soon as I unswaddle him, he loves to stretch out and he's always all wide-eyed in the morning.
