We didn't do much for Adam's birthday, but we had small group that night, and Val and Luis threw Adam a Star Wars themed birthday party complete with a Darth Vader balloon, masks, and cake. Picture this: twelve adults sitting in a circle singing Happy Birthday with these masks on. It was awesome.

27
Happy birthday to my amazing husband.
I can't even describe how thankful and grateful I am for you.
Even though you're not perfect :) you're perfect for me.
You're full of surprises and our life is never boring.
I love how you love our son. When I see the two of you together...it's my favorite thing.
I love you forever and always, Adam. Happy 27th birthday.
And also, happy birthday to my big brother Michael. 28 this year! That's only two years away from the big 3-0. I'm glad you're doing it first. :) I'm also glad that you befriended Adam when you were young, found out you had the same birthday, and started having joint birthday parties. Thanks.

Look What I Found!
I found this awesomely cute peapod growing in our backyard today.
I hate to admit it, but we were bad sports this year. We did NOTHING for Halloween.
We hung out in Adam's classroom for awhile because he needed to lesson plan for the week. Then we came home, made supper, put a sign on the door that said "No Candy. Sorry." And headed downstairs for a movie night.
Hopefully the neighborhood kids don't hate us. We spent a ton load of money on candy last year and just decided to take the year off. We still had a few crazies ring our doorbell (no porch light on, no lights on upstairs, and a sign that said No Candy, and they STILL tried? Intense!)
But...I knew if I didn't take more photos of Sutton in his first Halloween costume, I'd regret it. So I dressed him up today and took advantage of our neon green grass (seriously, it looks painted next to the neighbor's lawn, it's so bright!) to get some cute cute CUTE photos of the baby boy.
Because I know he won't fit in this much longer. Even though it's 9 month size. Yes, he's 4 months. And we couldn't get the hat thing velcroed around his second chin. Our poor boy. I wouldn't have him any other way. :)
Happy first Halloween, Sutton baby! I promise your parents won't be scrooges every year! :)
This Is How We Do It
Sutton doesn't sleep on a pillow on my desk anymore. :( He's a big boy now. So usually when I'm working at the computer, he's either in his Bumbo on my desk, the ottoman behind me, or if it's nap time, we turn on Coldplay on iTunes and I sing him to sleep on my chest.
If I prop myself just right, I can make it so I have both hands free to work while he naps. It's a pretty sweet deal. I wish I could've pointed the camera a little lower so you could get the whole picture, but I didn't want to move and wake him. It doesn't look like it, but I'm leaning back so he's not fully upright. This kid's got it good.

The Peapod
Friday night was Trunk or Treat at Asbury Church. We have some friends who go there and invited us, so we dressed Sutton up and walked around for awhile. We didn't get any candy...I was really hoping we would but I guess everyone thinks Sutton is to young for chocolate. Whatever. :)
Ginger's costume was awesome. And Avery was pretty darn cute.
Our nephew Corbin as none other than HARRY POTTER!!!!!
And his little sis Aubrynn as a stylish fairy.
I love my peapod. :)
Grandma Janet was making him smile for the camera.
I don't know if we'll dress him up again tomorrow night or not, but if we do, I'm sure there will be lots more photos...

Sleeping
Last night, Sutton got super tired in his Jumperoo again (he fell asleep in one yesterday morning at daycare!), so I gave him to Adam since I had some things I needed to do. He slept with hit little bottom up in the air.
Which reminded me of a simlar photo we took back in July...
