We don't have a ton of photos for this post because, well, it's Christmas Eve and we're busy. Plus, I'll be taking a bunch at all of our family stuff, so I think we'll have 18 months covered. :)
Sutton baby....at 18 months:
*You're saying a ton more these days. The faves are please ("peeeeeeeee!"), go, uh-oh, puppy, mama, dada, baby, cracker, as well as the constant babbling in Japanese. I'm loving that you can tell us what you want/need.
*We started brushing your teeth this month and you think it's really fun. Mostly you just suck all the gel stuff off your toothbrush, but you get so excited when it's time to brush your teeth. Most days we do it together.
*Unless we're at home, you're usually very shy around other people. You've warmed up to your grandparents and will be goofy around them, but pretty much everyone else...you just sit and stare and don't say or do anything.
*You think you can get anything you want if you say "peeeeeeee!" And it's never a calm please, it's always extremely enthusiastic.
*You like to go to the cupboard with all your snacks and open it and say "cracker? cracker?" until we'll get one for you. Luckily the shelves that have your snacks are high enough you can't reach.
*You're wearing 12-18 month size clothes and we just moved you up to a size 5 diaper.
*You like to jump on command. It's one of your tricks. It's real cute. You crouch down, and then spring up and get about 1/2 an inch of air. :) Sometimes, we'll just spend 10 minutes jumpin together.
*Your hair is getting redder since we're not outside as much for the sun to bleach it. Everyone comments on your red hair. It's also super long (but our awesome haircutter is on maternity leave, so we wait) and curly. Didn't think the curls would come back after the first haircut, but they came back with a vengeance!
*You love to play with airplanes, cars, crayons, your slide, and balls. Most things get turned into airplanes so you can fly them.
*You are quite the little dancer. You put on a show for all our friends the other night at a Christmas party. You make me so proud with how fun you are.
*Favorite foods are graham crackers, goldfish, mandarin oranges, yogurt. Apple juice is consumed by the gallon these days.
*We're still doing 2 naps each day, but there have been a few days lately that you slept in til 8:30 or so, and then only took one nap. Bedtime couldn't come soon enough though.
*Bedtime is and almost always has been super easy with you. You like going to bed and sometimes even gather up your blankies and start to head that way on your own. We lay you down without a struggle and you close your eyes. We often hear "singing" over the monitor awhile later, but you stay in there and sleeping, so who knows.
*After bathtime, you like to "escape" while you're still naked and not let us catch you, giggling hysterically. It's pretty cute.
*Whenever we go somewhere in the car, we typically have your blankie and pacifier with us. Every time we start unbuckling you, you lay your blankie down on the seat next to your chair, and then pop out your pacifier and put it on top. I'm glad you've decided that you only need those things in the car, and not in the store. :)
*I think you weigh around 27 lbs. You like to play on our scale, and this morning, that's what it read. You move around so much though...who knows how accurate it was. I also noticed today how tall you're getting. You're gonna be taller than me before we know it.
*You can be very cuddly. I give you so many hugs and snuggle your face next to mine all the time. You've started putting your cheek up to my cheek and smiling since I do that to you a lot. I love it.
*You still love your daddy, but are coming back around to wanting me a lot too. I appreciate that.
Sweetiepie, you are my favorite baby in the whole world. I love you more than I can ever say and am loving seeing you grow up into such a handsome and fun boy!
