Family Photos
Here are the rest of my favorites from our family session last week with Ginger. Starting with a "normal" version of that one I posted earlier. :)

October Randoms
How is it half way through October already? Here are some of our goings on. Adam got matching shirts for he and Sutton from his school, and they had to pose (in their own way) for a photo for me.
Eating ravioli is a messy event.
So handsome. :)
Sutton and I go to Dillons just about every other day because I'm horrible at planning ahead and we live about half a mile from it. One day we were there and we saw the pumpkins and just had to take two home. We had lots of fun painting them and then putting them out on the front step when they were dry. I saw the chevron pattern pumpkin on Pinterest and just had to have one of my own.
Adam was big into unicycling in high school, and after our trip to Tulsa over Labor Day where he rode Brandon's, he had to have one. So he found this one on Craigslist and has ridden it just about every day. Sutton loves to sit out on the tailgate of Adam's truck and watch his Daddy ride up and down the street.
Ginger and I had to make a Dr Pepper stop at QuikTrip halfway through our wedding a couple weekends ago. It was such a cold wedding day, but we needed the pick-me-up!
Our good friends Luis and Val are pregnant (hooray!) and they had a gender reveal party 2 weeks ago. We were so excited for this, and I was actually NERVOUS in the moments leading up to the reveal. We were supposed to wear pink or blue, depending on our guess, so we made these funny shirts.
Adam's guess was boy so he put Luis's head on a baby's body and some other random stuff that only Luis would understand. I guessed girl and put Val's head on a baby's body. Sutton guessed boy and we put Luis's head on the body of a baby in a picture of Sutton with a baby. It said "Future Best Friends."
They had us all bite into cupcakes that were filled with frosting in the appropriate color, and...it's a GIRL!! So exciting. It seems boys are everywhere, so this will be a lot of fun.
Sutton really loves his shirt that has Luis's head on it, so he wore it to bed that night. Here he is, still in it the next day, with added awesomeness to make this a super rockin' outfit. This is actually the wallpaper on my phone right now. :)
So I think we can officially quit saying I can't cook. I made homemade pizza (including the dough) from scratch last week!
Then later in the week, I made chili! And I made some mexi-chicken awesomeness in the crockpot tonight that I made up, and it was good! Hooray for finally starting to cook.
Adam went running one chilly evening and so we bundled Sutton up and he rode in the jogging stroller: hat, boots, snack, drink, puppy. All you ever need.
Sutton has a constant battle with the sun in the mornings when we drive to the Y. If sunglasses aren't handy, I tell him to look the other way. This day, he used his problem-solving skills and decided that if he pulled his hat down, then the sun wasn't in his eyes. We rode the whole way like this. :)
Sometimes, the couch that's 15 feet away, is just too far for Diesel to be from me when I'm working. So I threw a blanket on the floor next to my desk and he sleeps there sometimes.
Sutton and Avery being super cute together last week when he was at their house on Wednesday. I love that Ginger sends me photos and video of the funny things they do while he's there. What other babysitter would do that?! She's so great.
Sutton bear loves to pretend to go nigh night in Mommy's bed. Adam bear loves his Master of the Universe pillowcase.
Friday we had some friends over and Sutton was dancing up a storm and so we had to strip him down from all the sweating. It was really rainy that evening, and he LOVES rain, so he wanted to go run around in it. He refused to put his clothes on first. At least we got boots on him.
I was finally able to wrangle him into a jacket, but it came off after a short while.
Ginger's son Ezra had his first birthday on Sunday. How can it have been a year since we met baby Ezra in that little hospital room and found out that Baby Skillen #2 was a BOY?
Adam ran a half-marathon on Sunday. Sutton and I couldn't go because I was taking baptism photos at church. But he did really really well! He got this medal and Sutton loves wearing it around. He wears it to the Y. Or to Dillons. He also likes to put his hat on himself, and this is usually how it ends up looking. My son and his fashion sense.
I put our pumpkin patch pumpkins out on the porch with our painted pumpkins yesterday, and Sutton squatted down behind them and said "Take picture?" So I had to go grab my phone. :)
His latest thing is playing cars laying down. He'll be playing by himself, really quietly, so we'll come check on him, and there he is. Just laying down, driving his cars around.

Pumpkin Patch
Saturday morning, we headed over to the pumpkin patch. It was misty and windy and seemed to be on the edge of a downpour all morning. But we lucked out because we only got a little damp AND the patch wasn't crazy busy like a normal Saturday due to the weather!
Have I mentioned that I love him? :)
We started off by trying to get Sutton to ride this little train. He's obsessed with "choo choos" but apparently he's all talk because he refused to get on the thing.
The next stop was the tricycle track.
As we were leaving the house, Adam put on a hat and so Sutton told us he needed to wear one too. :)
Next was the big bouncy thing. We had it all to ourselves and this was so much fun! Such a workout too. Sutton was on the fence...he would giggle hysterically and then start whimpering and asking us to hold him. Maybe when he's a bit bigger, this will be more fun for him.
Then came the giant slide. This was a hit last year, but he only went down it once this year and he was done.
One of his new tricks is doing a thumbs up. He usually accompanies this with a "good job!"
And the corn maze. A little muddy, so luckily we found our way around and out pretty quickly.
Then we walked down to where the actual pumpkin patch was.
We took his photo on this hay bale last year, so I had to do it again.
Had to see how tall he was. Three whole feet!
And a little comparison from last year. :) He's so big now! Not just height, but he went from baby to boy overnight, it seems.
For those of you wondering, yes, my hubby had a giant beard, and no, he has no plans on shaving it any time soon. He has a goal in mind of this long crazy beard that he thinks looks good. The burdens we must bear... :)
The patch was too muddy to walk around in, so we rode the hayrack ride back to the main area and got a couple pumpkins from the already-picked pile. Sutton had fun searching for his pumpkin among the many different varieties they had.
He wanted to make sure I could see his pumpkin...
"Don't hold it in front of your face, buddy."
There we go! He held onto that thing the entire rest of the time and the drive home. He kept dropping it, so who knows how long it'll last. It had a little area with some markings on it, and we told him it was an owwie, so he can't stop talking about the pumpkin's owwie and how he'll make it feel better.
And the whole fam. A little wet and scraggly, but I'll take it.
Sutton loves our pumpkins and whenever he sees them he yells "PUMPKIN PATCH!!!!" It's pretty cute. We still need to carve them, then hopefully we'll have a cute little fall arrangement on our front porch with some pumpkins we painted earlier this month.
I took a photo of downtown Wichita as we were on the highway driving home because I had my camera out and I wasn't the one driving. Kinda fun.
Until next year, pumpkin patch...

We had to cross a bridge to get there and we stopped to look at the water below.
