It has definitely gotten HOT here lately, so we got a sprinkler set up for the boys to run through yesterday.
Monkey see, monkey do.
Sutton held Ren's hand one time to encourage him to run through, and then every time after that, Ren would look at Sutton and say "Hand? Hand?"

Playing Outside
These ages of 5 and 2 years old will quickly pass us by, so I decided to photograph the boys playing outside. I don't update this blog as often as I used to, and I LOVE to look back at my old posts, so I know I need to keep with it!
When I came out, they were playing with a plunger in a bucket of water, lol. Under Daddy's supervision, of course.
Ren got sad cause Sutton wanted to hold it by himself.
But then he got a turn too.
Sutton loves Arnold Palmers and has recently learned how to open a can on his own. He's big stuff.
This is part of what will be an epic treehouse someday (hopefully soon)!
Such a good big brother, sharing his drink.
Grandma and Papa have been done living in the RV for several weeks, so it will probably be gone soon!

Love these boys and this space we call home!

Sutton's Program & Last Day of Pre-K
Yesterday was Sutton's big End-of-the-Year program at school. They have been practicing for weeks for this, and he has been practicing at home too. We were both SO excited for it. Grandma Janet and Papa Ed were able to come watch too!
Now we're all business.
I took way too many photos (per usual), so I compiled them into this collage.

Ren was very interested and watched almost the whole time. Luckily Papa and Grandma were there to help so I could take photos.

Here's a little video of the Wiggly Worm song:
He did so good. He remembered all the words, didn't mess around, and there was minimal face scratching (a nervous tic of his). Then they lined up to head back to their classroom.
We went back to the classroom and Sutton's teacher Ms. Sharon had made a video slideshow of photos from the whole year. She even included baby photos of each kid that she had gotten from us earlier in the year (that I'd totally forgotten about). The kids had fun guessing who was who on the baby photos.

Then it was time for ice cream! Papa and Grandma had to go, so they took a quick photo with Sutton.

He got to make his own sundae. Yum yum.
Sitting with all his friends for one of the last times in preschool!

Ren had a hard time waiting through the video for it to be ice cream time. Then he had to wait even more while the students got theirs first. FINALLY I was able to grab some for him. He went to town and downed the whole bowl. And got to experience gummy worms for the first time.
Sutton and his best school buddy, Nicholas, who is sadly moving away in a couple weeks!
And with his teacher Ms. Sharon. He has absolutely loved having her this year. She's the best!!
That was all yesterday. Today was the official last day. He's actually still at school right now. We had to take some last day of school photos...we've always done these on the front porch of our old house, so we had to find a new spot this time! Such a handsome young man.
And to compare first day to last day:

Little bro had to join in a few (he's holding a scrap of weed-eater thread...who knows). I love this photo so much!
And a brother comparison. Ren looks SO much older!

I was taking a test shot, and it ended up being super cute. His excited/nervous smile as the kids were going up onto the risers. :)

Gross photo of me, but it was all I got with my boys.

Short Update {With Photos!}
I can't believe I haven't posted in over a month! Crazy. We are still loving our new house and while work on the house has slowed, we are still moving forward. The studio is finished, Ed put in the new furnace + all the duct work that will heat and cool the studio, office, and our bedroom. Adam is currently sheet rocking + mudding the office and stairs up to our bedroom. We have settled into living with the construction zone, as well as to sleeping in the basement dungeon. The cold down there has actually been nice on the few super warm days we've had!
Here are a few of my recent I Carry Your Heart photos just to add some cuteness to this post. We see this pouty face a lot from Sutton. I think he was mad that I was taking his photo. Get over it, kid.
Sutton doesn't usually take naps, but it got extra quiet one day when he was playing and I saw he'd fallen asleep while holding the new semi truck Papa had gotten him.
We went and played in the ditch here one morning, and Sutton was so sweet helping Ren climb in and out of it.
Ask Ren to laugh, this is what you get. Love those big teeth and ears!
Now that Ren is older, these two have begun fighting more. Which sucks. But I guess it was inevitable. They still have their moments of sweetness together though.
Ren got the bathtub all to himself the other night, which is a rarity.
