As you can tell, I found the photos I thought I lost! I'm so excited about this first photo...people always seem so cool when they have all their ingredients laid out, so I had to do it too.

I first was introduced to this amazingness by Adam's mom when I was still "the girlfriend." They've become a staple at our house, and my go-to meal when I need to make something.

The task: Turkey, Swiss, & Cream Cheese Sandwiches

The lineup:

*1 loaf of french bread
*1 pkg of turkey lunchmeat
*1 pkg of sliced swiss cheese
*a couple green onions
*tub o' cream cheese
*tub o' margarine or butter

Here we go. First, chop your green onion.

Next, slice the bread into semi-thick pieces, whatever you prefer for your sandwiches. Spread cream cheese on one side and a thin layer of margarine on the other side. Do this on each piece. Lay margarine side down on a hot skillet and sprinkle with green onion.

Add turkey and swiss cheese, as much as you'd like.

Top with another slice of cream-cheese-and-margarine covered bread (cream cheese goes on the INSIDE, believe it or not).

Grill, fry, brown (not sure what the correct word is) until each side is golden brown. And you're done. Enjoy. And you will. As long as you like cream cheese.

You might need a dog to help you out. I generally do with most household tasks.

Ohhhh...the Overalls

My cute boy is rockin some cute overalls today (disregard the spit-up).

And...sitting in the Bumbo all by himself! He's still pretty bobbly, so I don't keep him in there long, but I think he likes it!

Update: We are no longer wearing the overalls. Sutton decided that extreme spitting up was in order for this morning and ruined his cute outfit. We're back to a plain onesie. "That'll teach her," says Sutton.

Adventures in Babysitting

Yesterday Adam and I photographed a friend's (amazing) wedding for most of the afternoon and evening. My parents were awesome and came to stay with Sutton at our house. They said he did great, and they even ventured out to Target with him! They had quite the time figuring out how to get the carseat out of the car...but they finally got it. I told them they had to send me their pics from the day so I could blog them.

This is one of Sutton's favorite positions to be in. He gets really animated and smiles and "talks." He'll hold entire conversations like this as long as you talk back to him.

And the ridiculousness that generally happens at our house. I'm glad they got a taste of how it REALLY is around here...when you babysit for us, it's not just Sutton that you have to look after.

Labor Day 2010

We spent Labor Day in Newton with my parents and both sets of my grandparents. Now that we have Sutton, everyone loves to come spend time with him. We mostly just ate and talked and really did nothing that could be considered labor. It was nice. Here's my Dad, teaching Sutton about life.

Their dog Rory, keeping my dad's shoes warm. It's an important job.

When everyone was leaving, we took some quick photos on the deck. This was when we were getting all the smiles from Sutton from those last two posts. He was happy surrounded by so many grandparents oogling over him.

I just had to post these two photos next to each other because I think it's so evident that Sutton has his daddy's eyes in this photo!

Wednesday

Sutton had a BIG morning. My dad recently got a 'new' job (I say 'new' because he worked here several years ago and just recently went back) and has been asking us to come visit and take a tour of the new place. We finally had a free morning, so we headed towards Newton to visit. Sutton got to meet all of Dad's co-workers and even tried to help him make a sale!

After a huge parting smile for his grandpa, Sutton and I went to visit my mom at her work, and he got to meet all her co-workers. They've heard Mom talk about him so much, but hadn't met him yet, so they exclaimed, "He's real!" :) He showed them his handsome smile as well. Mom and I headed to her house for lunch, where we ate some Thai noodles and cheese biscuits. Yum. We took Sutton out onto their deck for a bit, but it was kinda chilly!

We laid him on the floor inside at one point, but their dogs don't know that you have to be careful around a baby, so that didn't last long. These innocent creatures have sharp talons...er...claws.

The next stop was at my grandparents house. Sutton had been up awhile at this point, and he kept falling asleep in the car on the rides between places, but he would wake up and flash a smile at each place we stopped. He's such a good baby!

He slept on the 30 minute ride home, ate, and has been sleeping for a few hours now. We sure wore him out. Diesel decided he needed to take a snooze on our bed as well. You can never be too close.
