Hmm...

Gina: "So...how far apart are we going to have our kids?"
Adam: gesturing with his hands "About 4 feet."

And Now....We're Ready.

I'm officially DONE with shooting weddings.

I can't tell you what a huge relief this is. I've been so worried about these last two weekends of weddings since I found out I was pregnant. Shooting a wedding (aka: being on my feet for at least 6 solid hours and carrying all my equipment) when 37 weeks pregnant is no easy task.

I'm also an over-worrier. So I tried to never use my pregnancy as an excuse to have people do things for me. My thought process was that, I have to shoot three weddings when I'm 9 months pregnant, so I think I can carry my own groceries, shoot an engagement session in 100-degree heat, walk a mile without a pee break, etc. Does that make any sense?

The looming weddings also made me ignore and "brush off" any random pains, pressure, or weird feelings I'd have in the night while tossing and turning. I'd think...that just CAN'T mean anything, I still have to work, so I just CAN'T have any complications.

I don't think I'm explaining this well. I guess I'm just trying to say that while I still had work to do, I couldn't allow myself to relax and just be pregnant and restful, focusing on what's best for the baby.

Now...I can!

So now...I'm totally ready to have this little boy. He can come out any time and we're ready. But in these last few weeks, I may try to transition into being a normal 9-month-pregnant-lady and make everyone wait on me hand and foot. Sounds pretty dang awesome. :)

Since posts are always better with photos...Adam and I (well really just me, Adam came along as a decoy) photographed a proposal on Friday afternoon at Botanica. It was so cool (though very hot). I'm not going to post any photos of the actual proposal here or on my other blog because the bride-to-be never found out I was there, and that was how the groom wanted it. He wants to surprise her with the photos later. But I got some pretty photos of flowers and my hott hubby, so I'll share those. :)

37 Weeks

How far along? 37 weeks, which is full term! I can't believe we made it!
Baby is the size of a(n): Watermelon
Food cravings/aversions: Dr Pepper, pizza
Sleeping: I slept hard last night, it was awesome. I've been getting really sweaty at night (sorry if that's TMI)...then I had a scared Doberman wake me up this morning when it started thundering again. He just needed a little lovin.
Milestones: Full term! And I think I've decided to induce on the 24th...I would definitely prefer that everything happen on it's own, but since he's so big and since I have to shoot a wedding on July 23, I just feel like I can't wait that long. I have my last pre-baby wedding on Saturday, so I'm hoping we can at least hold out til then, and after that, this baby can come out anytime!
Weird things I read online: Baby boy's weight gain has slowed and he's ready to come out!
Interesting things that happened this past week/anticdotes: The belly is measuring at 39 weeks, I was also told I have a lot of fluid though (so maybe that accounts for some of my weight gain?). I was a little more than 1cm dilated at my appointment this week, but not quite 2cm. A little more effaced than last time, but not much. And my belly skin is so stretched that it kinda hurts around my belly button.

And here are a couple other photos from this week. When Adam got home on Sunday, we had a late anniversary celebration. We went to Genghis Grill for dinner and then went to the theater and saw Prince of Persia. Here's our anniversary photo. We don't look nearly as good as we did on this day 4 years ago. :)

And one morning before I left for work, this was what was going on on my bed. Probably one of the last times this will happen before there's another little boy in the mix!

4 Years

Four years ago today, I got to marry the most amazing man. He has been so much more than just my husband...my best friend, my partner-in-crime, my support, my protector. I can't imagine life without him. I feel like we're perfectly matched and even though we've both changed so much over the past four years, there's not a day that goes by that I don't love him more than the day before.

I thought I'd share some photos from our wedding. :) I had a really hard time narrowing it down to just a few, so this might be photo overload, but I always like looking at other people's wedding photos, so I figured you all would too.

I've shared this photo before, but it's my favorite, so we'll start out with it.

Our awesome wedding party.

During the ceremony, Adam completely surprised me by pulling out a guitar (he doesn't play guitar) and singing (he doesn't sing) Nothing Fancy by Dave Barnes. It was amazing. He has such a good voice and I never get to hear him sing!

At the reception, we toasted with Dr Pepper because neither of us drink. Adam wanted orange Gatorade for his drink, but this was just easier. And the bride always gets her way. :)

Adam also had a big talk with me before the wedding about feeding each other cake. He was extremely adamant that there would be no cake-smashing-in-the-face. So we were nice.

And we're not big dancers, but I really wanted to have a first dance. I'm so glad we did, it was one of the most special moments. These photos just make me smile!

Happy 4 years, Adam! I love you so much and can't wait for 100 more (that's right, we're planning on living to be 125)!

36 Weeks

How far along? 36 weeks
Baby is the size of a(n): Honeydew
Food cravings/aversions: Dr Pepper. That's all. Anyone wanna bring me one?
Sleeping: Still okay aside from all the peeing and turning over.
Milestones: Being dilated is a pretty big milestone, I think. Had my last normal photo shoot last week (still have a couple weddings and two random sessions). We also received/bought the last few baby items we really needed. Had my last pre-baby haircut, paid my last pre-baby bills, had my last pre-baby birthday.
Weird things I read online: He's gaining like an ounce a day or half a pound each week.
Interesting things that happened this past week/anticdotes: See the post from yesterday. :)

Currently...

...my little dog is nestled amongst my legs under the covers.

...my big dog is snoring away to my right on the bed.

...my baby is hiccuping away.

Contentment.

Baby Update

The Drehers had a big morning! We had a sonogram and regular doctor's appointment today and there were a lot of highlights:

{ Sonogram }

-Right off the bat, he (again) showed us that he's definitely a boy! (I'll spare you that picture...it's pretty graphic.)

-They could tell that he has lots of hair (it's the fuzzy stuff above and to the right of the arrow).

-He kept his hand up by his mouth most of the time, but we could still see his cute upper lip. :)

-We could see him blinking. We got a shot of his face, which was SO weird to see. He's really cute and has chubby cheeks! This photo is easier to make out in person, but his forehead is on the right, you can see his eye towards the top, and his nose and mouth to the left of that...his hand is still up kinda covering his mouth. The left side of his face (which is at the bottom) is covered in shadow. The second photo is the same view, just a little different.

-He weighs almost 7 pounds already! The tech said that puts him in the 90th percentile. She said if they give us a skinny bald baby from the nursery, it's not ours. :)

{ Appointment }

-From the info the sonogram showed, they moved my due date up to June 30. For their records, it had been July 3, I was just going by July 1 because that was what he was measuring at at my 10.5 week sono.

-That means my updates will be on Wednesdays now instead of Thursdays. :) And I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow!

-The belly is measuring at 38 weeks.

-I had my first internal (ew) and I'm 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced already.

-I asked about inducing at 39 weeks (so I'd have more recovery time before my first wedding on July 23) and he said that he would do that if that's what I want. That would be June 24. Depending on my progress at the upcoming appointments, we'll make that decision. We talked a lot about the different factors that go into that and the risk of c-section, so I think it's just something I need to pray about and take some time to decide.

I think that's pretty much it! It was quite an eventful appointment and I was so glad Adam was there to see everything and hold my hand through the internal exam. I've heard that they're even worse when you're actually in labor, so that'll be fun. :) And Adam's going out of town tomorrow through Sunday, so let's also all be praying I don't go into labor until at least Monday!!
