Sutton { Ten Months }

Happy 10 months, Sutton Baby! And Happy Easter!

I can't wait til you are able to learn why we celebrate Easter. I pray that you will learn to love Jesus with all your heart and we will start all kinds of traditions you'll look forward to each year.

Looking handsome in your Easter outfit, cutiepie. At 10 months:

*Wearing some 6 and 12 month size onesies, 12 and 18 month pants. Hats are like 2T. It seems you're disproportionate. :)

*You probably weigh around 23 pounds, though we haven't weighed you lately. You seem to be thinning out and getting longer...you'll probably be tall like your dad.

*You wear size 3 diapers.

*You're really into holding things. You hold your pacifier in your hand probably as much as you have it in your mouth. You sometimes take naps holding random things (junk mail, baby food jar lids, bath toys), and you're still grasping it hours later when you wake up. Sometimes I think you're not even aware you're holding something, but if we take it away, you freak out.

*Just yesterday, you started saying "ma ma." And you wouldn't stop. All day yesterday and today you've just been yelling it over and over. And over. I love it. I'm not sure you associate it with me, but there have been at least two times that I was walking away from you and you yelled "ma! ma! ma!" at me. I melt.

*You're still saying "da da da" and now also "ba ba ba." You also make a lot of other weird noises.

Are you ready to see the cutest picture in the WHOLE world? Oh my. I can't handle it. My boy is precious.

*Eating is pretty much the same as last month...you still nurse one meal, eat baby food the next. During the nights you just nurse.

*I finally made some baby food this month. At first you acted like it was horrible and I was trying to poison you. But we've gotten you to start eating it all.

*Bed time has been...challenging. You went through about a two week phase where you hated being laid down for bed. You screamed and screamed. And since you're ALWAYS hot and since it's been warmer, you would work yourself up into a huge sweatball and get all soaked. I started to try to do more of a bedtime routine - warm bath, lotion, bedtime story, nursing. It's seemed to help. I just don't want you to rely on nursing in order to go to bed.

*You take 2-3 naps per day. It's become a bit tricky because you take a morning nap (anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours), an afternoon nap (usually about 2 hours) and then we try to get you to stay up til bedtime because you always want to take another nap around 7pm, but if we let you, then you won't go to bed til after 10pm and you will wake up earlier. We're figuring it out.

*You're doing so good at daycare! It makes me so happy. We've discovered that if you don't see me leave, it helps. And then you just play with your friends all day. We love Becky!

*You're still a jumper, and we're now on the tallest setting on your jumper. Hopefully it lasts for awhile. We always still have the one that hooks in the doorway, but you like the stationery one better.

*You're not as easy to photograph. Today, you were interested in everything EXCEPT looking at the camera. We finally had to enlist your dad's help.

*Diesel's starting to like you more. He really likes to lick your face, but we try to limit that. Every morning, when you're napping on our bed, Diesel jumps up there, walks over to you, and lays somewhere so that he's touching you. You never seem to notice (or maybe you just think it's normal) and you keep on sleeping.

*Everywhere we go, people always comment on your red hair! I guess it's pretty uncommon. Or maybe it's because they see that neither your dad or I have red hair. It's super cute.

*Still no teeth, but lots of drooling. And lots of chewing on your pacifier.

*You're getting better at playing by yourself. We sit you on the floor with bunches of toys and you can keep happy for quite awhile.

*Sometimes when you're tired, you get in a silly mood and can't stop laughing. If we just look at you, you'll crack up.

*You are always moving. It's hard to stand and talk to people while I'm holding you because you're trying to reach for things, or hang upside down, or bounce, or just wriggle out of my arms.

*You can get pretty far for STILL not being able to crawl. You go from sitting to on your belly and back to sitting. And somehow in there, you get clear across a room. The crawling thing is tricky for you...you get in position, but you can't get both legs behind you.

*You generally cry when I hand you off to someone, but can be calmed down pretty easy. You normally get over it after a second unless you're tired or hungry.

*You're starting to mimic us. We can grunt back and forth with you. The other afternoon, I was showing you how a top spins, and then I gave it to you. You started throwing it down like I'd been doing, and laughing hysterically.

*You're the most beautiful baby boy there ever was!

Here's our monthly comparison. Do you notice that there are just TWO spots left til you're ONE?! What is happening? I don't remember giving you permission to grow so fast.
