Adam's Graduation

Yesterday, Adam graduated with his Master of Education degree from Wichita State University. I wrote a little tribute on my facebook page, and that sums it up best, so here's what I said:

I have to just take a minute to say how proud I am of my amazing husband. Tomorrow, he will walk across the stage to receive his well-deserved Master of Education degree.

The thesis is written. The work is finished. The sleepless nights are over.

It's been a looooong two years in the making, and while I haven't always been the gracious, non-complaining wife that I should've been, he pulled through and got it done for the good of our little family.

Adam...I am so, so, so thankful that it's over and that we can have more family time again! I can't wait to see you walk tomorrow and babe, I'll be your loudest cheerleader. I love you so much and I'm so proud of you!

He hadn't opened up his cap and gown until yesterday morning, just a couple hours before the ceremony. So I ironed his gown for him while he tried to figure out how the hood worked. Sutton told him that his gown was "pretty" and then he had to try on his silly hat.

We made our way to Koch Arena for the graduation at 11am. Sutton was in an iffy mood and we just couldn't get him to smile for a photo.

The processional started! Hooray. As a mom, I no longer have the luxury of bringing whatever photography equipment I want to events like this because my bags are filled with fruit snacks, cars, and books. Thus, I didn't bring my closeup lens along with us because it's a beast. So I marked these photos with arrows so you can see where Adam is. :)

Finally the big moment!

Then, I was so busy smiling at him while he was walking towards me/by me that I forgot to take his photo until he was almost past. I love this of him though, with that smirk. :)

Sutton did okay. My parents and Adam's parents both came to the graduation, and the Grandmas were a big help. They both took Sutton out to walk around so that I could stay and watch as well as take photos. But having a 2-year-old sit through an hour and a half ceremony is a lot to ask. He was done. We went out to greet Daddy after the ceremony and he was rubbing his tired eyes.

With his parents...

We headed over to Adam's parents house for lunch. Sutton rode with Adam, and fell asleep about 2 minutes into their drive. He was pretty sad to be woken up for the party.

Adam isn't the hugest fan of cake, so he requested Swiss Cake Rolls instead. Sutton helped me buy all the food the day before, so he'd been asking for "cake rolls" since breakfast.

My silly boys, eating lunch.

Breegan needed a picture of her smile too.

My mom and Adam's mom.

My dad thought we needed this moment documented. So glad I was eating in this photo... :)

And then Sutton wanted Papa Bruce to take his picture too.

Congrats again, Master Dreher. You are AMAZING!
