Sutton's 3rd Birthday {The Party}

Sunday evening, we had our families over for Sutton's birthday party. Rachael, Matt, & Rowan also came into town for his party and stayed with us all weekend. While I was finishing cleaning and Adam was cooking, they kept Sutton busy for us.

We told Sutton to give Rowan a hug for a photo, and this was all I could get. He's so quick!

Here I was trying to get a photo of the THREE shirt I made him.

Adam did the grilling while Matt looked on. :)

People started showing up and everyone hung out in the backyard until it was time to eat.

Sutton with Grandma Ancy and Grandma Janet, who wore his favorite color to his party.

Rowan got to eat before the rest of us. Her pigtails are amazing.

Aunt Jessica brought Sutton a balloon and we tied it to his chair for the festivities.

We made kabobs and fruit kabobs for the adults, mac n cheese for the kiddos since that's Sutton's fave.

He picked up the mac n cheese pieces one by one and dipped them in ketchup. He was the last one eating.

Cousin Breegan helping Rowan with a toy.

We love these people! They're like family to us!

A month or so ago, when we started talking to Sutton about his birthday, we'd ask him what he wanted. All he's say was a blue cake. And cupcakes. So I made him a cake that was blue (both inside and out) and then Daddy decorated it with an airplane.

Family photo time.

Sutton's beautiful cousins Breegan and Aubrynn.

Now it was time for cake! We sang Happy Birthday.

Then Daddy lit the candles.

And he blew them out! Thanks Jessica for taking these photos.

I let him have one of his cupcakes while the cake was being cut.

Papa helped him with the wrapper.

Then he got a piece of cake too.

Lucky kid.

Next it was time to open presents. Rowan photo-bombed this one by walking across, haha.

He loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates, so he was pretty excited about these bandaids.

Water gun!

Lightning McQueen!

My mom made him some flubber, and that was a hit. But no one can ever remember the name of it, so it's been called many-a-thing.

Adam's parents got him this big bean bag chair to watch movies in. He loves it.

With his cousins.

And with Rowan.

We were pretty exhausted by the end of the celebration, but Sutton had a good time!
